Robert Graham Physician Executive Award

Family physicians can make a difference in the boardroom as well as the exam room. Each year, the Graham Award recognizes an AAFP member for outstanding contributions in health care organizations, acknowledged work in the provision of high quality health care, fostering the tenets of family medicine and improving the health of a community.

Nomination forms are sent to constituent chapters in January each year.

Pfizer Teacher Development Awards

This annual award recognizes fifteen outstanding, community-based family physicians who combine clinical practice with part-time teaching of family medicine.

To apply, the Pfizer Teacher Development Award Application Packet must be completed and returned no later than midnight May 9, 2008 .  Award Recipients will be announced by October 1, 2008. 

Award Winners Receive:

    • $1,500 scholarship
    • Recognition plaque
    • $500 stipend to their teaching center to host a recognition ceremony

Eligibility Requirements:

    • Member of the American Academy of Family Physicians
    • Graduated from an ACGME-approved family medicine residency program within the last 7 years – 2001-2007
    • Entered part time-teaching of family medicine, where part-time teaching is defined as between 4 hours/month and 32 hours/month, averaged over one year.
    • Teach voluntarily or receive no more than $18,000 in compensation for the education time devoted to residents and/or students
